#5 Curated Focus Weekly: Free love & healthy sexual lives
Curated Focus Weekly, a musical experiment to have a good ear week ◄(^_^)►
THIS WEEK: Afro-Latin · Singer song writer, folk, low fi · Low-fi hip Hop · Experimental Ambient
Yet many people find Valentine’s day a festivity that is mainly commercial, it is a day that invites us, in curated focus to celebrate that free love is becoming slowly more socially accepted. This week we want to invite you to celebrate free love!
Each of these musical selections we have today for you, are great to pair with sex! Actually, several studies have reported that listening to music with your partner can improve your sexual experience. Music makes your brain release “feel-good hormone”, Dopamine, and if you listen to music with someone else, can also release prolactin, a hormone that bonds people together. The point is: A healthy and sexual life is key for your relationships and music is a good tool to boost it.

Playlist: On the feeling of love by Nani
Listen on: Spotify /
Genre: Singer song writer, folk, low fi
Pair with: Valentines day, relief stress
This is one of the playlists that one of our curators (Nani) made in 2018. It came to be, during a musical conversational exchange with a friend, about how does being in love feel?. This is a playlist that for some might sound cheesy, for others might sound dreamy. Regardless, will get you to a journey of what does love feel. Either you are currently in love, or have been in the past, it will get you free some Endorphines, which might be great if your week is being filled with stress.
Playlist: Love without cheese by Nani
Listen on: Spotify /
Genre: Singer song writer, folk, low fi
Pair with: Valentines day, relieve stress
This is a second playlist from our same curator, Nani. The feeling of being in love, not necessarily is that intense roller coaster. Sometimes, love can feel serene, calm and peaceful. Or sometimes, you are not in that intense roller coaster cheesy love. Well, this is your playlist to listen during this week where the western world celebrates love. It’s calm, can have some vocals, and mixes a set of different genres, but all within the same pace.

Album: Two by Testiculo y Uno
Genre: Low-fi hip Hop
Pair with: Gotta get through the day and get out alive
This is an amazing low-fi with Hip Hop album, which is really fresh out of the oven! It was released on 31st January. It is very smooth and has a lovely mix of low fi with hip hop sounds. It is made in such a way, that you can either sleep to it, or really get work done without noticing the music. The album has songs that feel like Jazz, others like hip hop, low-fi. Quite of a diverse journey
The artists behind it are called: Testiculo Y Uno, they are two producers based in Cologne, Germany: Hulk Hodn and Twit One.

Album: Interplay by Ylangylang
Listen on: Spotify / BandCamp /
Genre: Experimental Ambient
Pair with: Deep focus, meditation, relieve stress
YlangYlang is Montreal-based artist Catherine Debard. This album was premiered last week in BandCamp. In their review they said that “she has defined a mesmeric style of spoken word music across a variety of albums, collaborations, and performance experiments.”. And in this release, PitchFork said: “On her latest release, the Canadian electronic producer approaches emotional turbulence from a place of spiritual calm.”
Her work is deeply focused into introspection, and overcoming the own self imposed limits. Yet this might sound quite intense for some of you, we really invite you to hear what she sounds like in this her latest Album. There is no waste there.
